We’re looking for a transformational leader in our technology services hub focused on marketing technologies. The Senior Director, Software Engineering, is the senior technology leader accountable for end-to-end product development across the entire global MarTech, AdTech, Customer, and Commercial portfolio. This leader owns engineering strategy and execution for all products and platforms in the portfolio, supporting customer experience, service experience across all regions (North America, LATAM, EMEA, APAC). This is a foundational leadership role with the mandate, resources, and executive support to build and run a modern, durable product engineering organization on a global scale. The leader directs a scaled engineering organization of 250+ associates and contractors operating within a modern Product Operating Model and is accountable for the resilience, scalability, and performance of platforms that directly impact consumer engagement, commercial performance, and data-driven decision-making worldwide. This role requires a combination of deep technical authority and product orientation. The ideal leader is someone with strong engineering foundations who can move seamlessly from executive strategy conversations to architecture reviews and who will get hands-on and into technology when it matters. Above all, this is a steady, calm voice that leads to a large, globally distributed team through complexity and change. A defining priority of this role is to lead the organization in leveraging Generative AI capabilities across the full software development lifecycle and product portfolio, advancing the team from AI-assisted workflows toward AI-enabled delivery and decisioning at scale, responsibly and with measurable business value. This leader oversees end-to-end product development for a cluster of products within the MarTech, AdTech, Customer, and Commercial portfolio. Our Senior Directors, Directors, and Managers across the product engineering teams report to this role. This role reports to the Vice President, Platform & Product Engineering, and partners closely with the Senior Directors across Platform, Operations, and Architecture.

What You’ll Do for UsEngineering Leadership & Organizational Excellence
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, globally distributed engineering organization under the Product Operating Model, with clear accountability for product and platform outcomes across all MarTech and AdTech products.
  • Build empowered teams that own business problems end to end, from discovery through delivery, operation, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent and leaders, creating a culture of technical excellence, craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Establish engineering standards, operating rhythms, and accountability frameworks aligned to business outcomes rather than project completion.
Product Development Ownership Across the Global Portfolio
  • Own end-to-end development for the entire MarTech and AdTech product portfolio globally, ensuring every product is delivered with quality, reliability, and speed.
  • Partner closely with Product Management and Product Design in a durable one-team model to solve meaningful business problems.
  • Drive accountability for measurable outcomes, including business impact, system reliability, performance, scalability, and consumer experience.
Technical Strategy & Architecture Leadership
  • Define and evolve the technical strategy, architecture, and engineering practices required for scalable, resilient, and secure product platforms at a global scale.
  • Provide technical oversight for critical systems and platform investments, staying close enough to the technology to lead by substance.
  • Balance build vs. buy trade-offs with rigor and a long‑term view, ensuring systems are built for durability, operability, and speed.
  • Ensure systems are designed for scale, resiliency, and long‑term sustainability, balancing delivery speed with technical excellence.
Generative AI Leadership & Enablement
  • Champion the adoption of Generative AI and agentic capabilities across the full SDLC and product portfolio, positioning AI as a core driver of developer velocity, decision quality and operational efficiency.
  • Drive team readiness for AI‑augmented work, including workforce and process redesign and change enablement, equipping teams to operate effectively in an AI‑enabled environment.
Executive Engagement & Strategic Influence
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior business and technology leaders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business implications.
  • Communicate engineering strategy, risks, tradeoffs, and investment needs to executive stakeholders with clarity and credibility.
  • Influence enterprise technology direction, ensuring alignment across product engineering, enterprise architecture, and business strategy, and participate in executive planning cycles.
Qualifications & RequirementsLeadership & Product Model Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience, including senior leadership roles and meaningful hands‑on time building scalable solutions; ideally began as a developer and grew into a technology thought leader.
  • 5+ years leading engineering organizations within a Product Operating Model or equivalent modern product‑centric environment.
  • 5+ years leading engineering through organizational transformation and modernization at scale.
  • 10+ years building and scaling high‑performing engineering teams, including leading other leaders (managers and Tech leads).
  • Strong partnership experience with Product Management and Product Design in empowered team environments.
Technical Depth
  • Deep expertise in modern software architecture, distributed systems, and platform engineering, with the ability to engage engineers credibly on design and tradeoffs and to get hands‑on when needed.
  • Strong command of cloud architectures (AWS / Azure), scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
  • Track record delivering complex, enterprise‑scale platforms and systems, ideally across MarTech / AdTech and consumer‑facing digital products.
Generative AI Leadership
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI or GenAI enablement within products or platform environments, with measurable business impact.
  • Familiarity with modern AI/ML platforms, LLM integration and agentic patterns, RAG, and the architectural and governance requirements for scalable, governed AI deployment.
  • Proven ability to drive workforce and process transformation in support of AI‑augmented development and decision making.
Executive Communication & Leadership Presence
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to senior executives and business stakeholders, and to influence enterprise technology strategy.
  • Strong business acumen connecting engineering investments to measurable business outcomes.
  • A calm, steady leadership style that brings clarity under pressure and earns trust across a large, globally distributed, multi‑vendor organization.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and demonstrated professional experience will also be considered.
