Job description

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Professional, Software Engineering job designs, develops and maintains software applications and systems. With minimal supervision, this job collaborates with cross functional teams to define, design and implement new software features to meet user needs and business goals, and upgrade existing software to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient and scalable code and troubleshooting and debugging complex issues. This job also participates in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge with software engineering team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: Designs and develops high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient codes.
  • AUTOMATION: Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, methodologies and tools to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
  • COLLABORATION: Partners with cross functional team of product managers, designers and different engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • TESTING & DEBUGGING: Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Suggests options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Builds and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.
  • TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated backend software development experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Front end experience with TypeScript and React, including custom hooks and reusable components, using MUI or a similar component library for forms and data grid

Preferred:

  • Experience building and integrating REST APIs, including calling third party systems with WebClient or a similar HTTP client
  • Experience building dynamic queries and filtering over large datasets with Spring Data JPA
  • Strong foundation in relational databases, with hands on experience using PostgreSQL, including data model design
  • Experience writing batch jobs that process large volumes of data, ideally with Spring Batch
  • Hands on experience with asynchronous and event driven systems, including Kafka, SQS, or similar messaging frameworks
  • Experience integrating with SAP
  • Experience developing, integrating, or enabling AI driven and agentic solutions
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps delivery practices
  • Proficiency with Git based version control and collaborative development workflows

  • The business will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position 
  • This position requires onsite (hybrid) presence at our Wayzata, MN Office Center 
Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
