Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI cleared Data Operations Engineer to support a defense customer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This fullโ€‘time, onโ€‘site role focuses on managing realโ€‘time data ingest operations, monitoring data quality, and supporting the delivery of missionโ€‘critical data feeds. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, scripting, data visualization, and operational support within technical environments. Location and Work Environment: โ€ข Fullโ€‘time onโ€‘site role in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, supporting operational data pipelines and mission systems. Travel up to 15% may be required, including longโ€‘distance trips to additional government or contractor facilities.
Responsibilities: โ€ข Support continuous data ingest operations, monitoring data feeds, pipeline health, and overall data quality. โ€ข Visualize and interpret data findings through dynamic reports and dashboards for leadership and users. โ€ข Use data manipulation and visualization tools to communicate realโ€‘time and historical trends. โ€ข Collaborate with platform, software, and data engineering teams to reconfigure pipelines for improved reliability. โ€ข Work with data in multiple formats including Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML. โ€ข Support incident management processes including issue documentation, resolution, and rootโ€‘cause analysis for recurring data outages. โ€ข Develop and maintain software to automate monitoring of realโ€‘time data feeds, including alerts for timeliness, lineage, volume, and distribution issues. โ€ข Leverage historical pipeline data to identify improvements in ingest performance and reliability. โ€ข Assist with designing, developing, testing, and implementing webโ€‘based collaboration and reporting tools. โ€ข Demonstrate proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for analytics, automation, and data operations. โ€ข Utilize openโ€‘source analytics and visualization tools to monitor system performance.
Qualifications: โ€ข Must have an active TS/SCI clearance โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or related field. โ€ข Minimum 3 -10 years of experience in data analysis or data engineering roles. โ€ข Strong experience handling structured and unstructured data across various formats. โ€ข Proficiency with Python (primary), Bash, or similar scripting languages. โ€ข Experience with NiFi. โ€ข Experience working with Windows and Linux (RedHat) operating systems. โ€ข Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, and Power BI. โ€ข Familiarity with XML and JSON. Preferred Experience: โ€ข Experience with intelligence and C2 data sets (ELINT, COMINT, MASINT, GEOINT). โ€ข Knowledge of data streaming. โ€ข Familiarity with Kubernetes cluster deployment and management.
Compensation: โ€ข Pay range: $160,000 - $210,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
