What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Engineer to support their manufacturing shop floor.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day development, support, and troubleshooting of custom and off-the-shelf manufacturing applications. This will include but not limited to: Machine tool HMI screens, reporting or visualization tools such as manufacturing tracking and priority systems, Manufacturing process data consolidation, and Statistical Process Control tools (SPC).
  • Design and create HMI / SCADA interfaces for shop floor machine tools.
  • Design and create custom business applications to collect, analyze and report data critical to plant operations.
  • Analyze application performance and debug and/or repair as necessary.
  • Modify custom applications to accommodate new functionality needed to satisfy compliance or business requirements.
  • Design reporting solutions and present a mock-up of the expected reporting output for review and approval.
  • Convert legacy software applications to current technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years of experience in software engineering, in manufacturing operations or similar environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with a programming language such as .Net, Java, or Python.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server or other relational databases
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git
  • Self-Starter, works well with minimal supervision

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in automation or robotic applications
  • PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Factory Talk)
  • Experience with the Ignition by Inductive Automation software platform
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree (computer, software, or electrical)
  • Experience creating reports and data analysis

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
