Job description

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for missile programs. This role supports requirements analysis, software architecture, design, implementation, debugging, and hardware integration with the goal of supporting missile subsystem flight testing.
Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Secret clearance required, with most recent investigation within the last 5 years.
  • Experience in software engineering and software development.
  • Knowledge and experience with Embedded Linux.
  • Proficiency with C++ programming.
  • Experience deploying, debugging, and integrating embedded software on hardware.
  • Ability to interpret program needs and develop technical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience as a software engineer working with multi-disciplined teams.
  • Experience designing ground system embedded software.
  • Experience with GitLab.
  • Software integration and verification experience.
  • Experience with embedded software development, missile systems, flight test support, hardware/software integration, software architecture, requirements analysis, and embedded systems debugging.
What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and implement embedded software for missile programs.
  • Perform software requirements analysis.
  • Develop software architecture and design solutions.
  • Implement embedded software using C++ and Embedded Linux.
  • Deploy, debug, and integrate software on hardware.
  • Support software integration and verification activities.
  • Work with multi-disciplined engineering teams to support missile subsystem development.
  • Support flight testing objectives for missile subsystems.
  • Communicate technical issues, solutions, and program needs to leadership.
