Job description

Job Summary:
ANSER enhances national and homeland security by strengthening public institutions. They are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development and maintenance of biometric collection systems in DoD mission environments, focusing on troubleshooting software issues and ensuring cybersecurity compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve software issues affecting biometric collection and processing systems.
• Develop software patches, updates, enhancements, and maintenance fixes for operational systems.
• Address Software Problem Reports (SPRs) and implement corrective actions for software-related issues.
• Coordinate with OEM vendors supporting BAT-A, NRTIO, and NXGBCC systems to resolve software defects and integration issues.
• Provide software engineering support to Field Support Representatives (FSRs) supporting CONUS and OCONUS operations.
• Develop and execute software test procedures, validation activities, and test reports.
• Implement secure data management, encryption, and access control measures to protect sensitive biometric data.
• Ensure software solutions comply with government cybersecurity regulations and information assurance requirements.
• Support Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps software development and deployment activities.
• Provide operational support during non-standard work hours as required to support global mission operations and time zone differences.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles and software lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting biometric systems from tactical collection and matching through enterprise-level multi-modal biometric storage, analysis, and processing.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving software issues in operational or mission-critical environments.
• Knowledge of information assurance, encryption technologies, and military cybersecurity protocols.
• Experience with mobile operating systems, including Android platforms.
• Experience applying Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies in a professional environment.
• Experience developing software test procedures, validation processes, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting DoD biometric systems including BAT-A, NRTIO, or NXGBCC.
• Experience supporting tactical or disconnected operational environments.
• Familiarity with secure biometric data storage, matching, and transmission standards.
• Experience coordinating with OEM vendors and external development partners.
• Experience supporting CONUS and OCONUS field operations.
• Familiarity with cloud-enabled or mobile biometric applications and architectures.
