JOB SUMMARY

The Software Project Manager is accountable for effectively overseeing and communicating project timelines. This role involves close collaboration with various functional teams, including Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Development, and Management, to monitor progress, address impediments, and ensure the overall quality of projects. Additionally, the Software Project Manager is responsible for continuously improving project management processes and tools. This role also includes educating team members on project management best practices and tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to track project milestones and deliverables (structure boards, release schedules)
  • Work closely with the Director of Product Solutions and Software Engineer Manager to prioritize development efforts based on business needs
  • Lead meetings, document notes, and ensure follow up of action items
  • Keep development and QA teams accountable to meet project schedules
  • Proactively monitor progress and manage changes in project scope/timelines, identify potential crises, and facilitate reprioritization discussions
  • Report project progress to Exzeo management
  • Mentor and motivate team members on project management methodologies and tools
  • Generate invoices for Exzeo licensing agreements and interact with Exzeo customers as required
  • Track project metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure delivery success and team effectiveness.
  • Manage the Toggl time-tracking process, including timesheet compliance, coordination with Accounting on reporting and process changes, and preparation of monthly utilization and time-tracking reports

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Jira and Confluence experience required
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Clear, concise oral and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with business and technical teams, as well as multiple management levels
  • Self-driven, and able to work independently, including ability to manage projects with incomplete data
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Adept at multitasking and handling multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
  • Familiar with Agile software development, preferred
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience, preferred

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Associate degree or equivalent education required; Bachelor degree preferred
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ Project Management experience required
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience in the software development field, preferred
