Role

This role is for a talented Web Development Software Engineer to join a mission-critical team supporting U.S. Special Operations Command programs at MacDill AFB. The individual in this role will play a key part in advancing the command’s ability to harness and operationalize data for smarter, faster decision-making.


As a subject matter expert in Web Development, the individual assigned to this role will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and other technical professionals to design, develop, and optimize development projects that bring complex data to life. The contributions of this role will directly support efforts to modernize and enhance data-driven operations across the command.


Responsibilities

Web Developers are responsible for developing applications designed to enhance user interface, enable operators, and increase effectiveness and efficiency of operating tasks. Identify areas in which technology can be used to improve current processes through automation and data management. Participate in the software development life cycle of an application, including the architecture, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions. Applications are designed to be user-friendly and easily accessible by the end-user while emphasizing security.


The Web Development Software Engineer will perform the following tasks:



  • Develop, coordinate, test, and maintain core development efforts including web site development and Android, iOS, and Windows-based development efforts

  • Design, prototype, develop, and implement applications using Web programming technologies to include but not limited to: JavaScript, HTML, HTMLS, and CSS.

  • Android, iOS, Windows-Based software development. Experience with development standards and methodology, including continuous integration pipeline development, Agile software methodologies using Jira

  • Database knowledge in SQL and NO-SQL environments.

  • Work with Data Analysts, Data Integrators, Data Scientists, and Database Engineers to create, troubleshoot, and recommend appropriate user interface capabilities

  • Work with customers to enhance user experience and implementation requirements


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience is required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with Android, Windows, and iOS Development

  • Proficient in various frameworks scripting techniques, and code languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, Ruby, Git, JSON, SQL and NoSQL)

  • Knowledge of and skills in various software applications and programs.

  • Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail

  • A Secret Clearance is required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD)

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
