Software EngineerUnder general supervision, you will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and analyzing software programs for computer-based systems. Your role will involve system modeling, simulation, and analysis, as well as designing and developing compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. You will also provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs when required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software programs for computer-based systems.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.
- Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in C++ or Java programming within a Linux operating system.
- Strong experience in software design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing.
- Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse, and knowledge of embedded software, object-oriented programming, UML, and UNIX.
- 8+ years of experience developing software, particularly with C++.
- Experience with Object-Oriented design/development and the use of Design Patterns.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Python and Bash is a plus.
- Experience working with Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments.
- Experience developing Solaris and other variants of UNIX scripts.
- Strong skills with MS Office.
- Familiarity with the xUnit framework, especially JUnit and CppUnitLite.
- Experience with CMMI Level 5 life cycle processes and procedures.
Work Environment
This position offers long-term contracts with PTO flexibility and a 9/80 schedule, allowing you to have every other Friday off. You will be working on the Aegis Missile Defense program, which has been a stable work environment for over 40 years and is utilized by multiple allies worldwide, including South Korea, Japan, Australia, Norway, and Spain. Work will be performed at our facility, subcontracted to Lockheed Martin.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $60.00/hr.
