Job Description
About the role
This is a hybrid position where employees work 2 days onsite and 3 days remotely. We are only considering candidates local to the following areas: Little Rock, AR; Dallas, TX; Mentor, OH; Miamisburg, OH.
The Software Engineer IV provides strategic, technical, and architectural expertise to software development projects and team members. In this role, the individual is able to work independently with limited supervision in designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software. The Software Engineer IV acts at the highest level of technical expertise addressing problems on systems integration, and compatibility, performs feasibility assessments, and often leads initiatives on development projects with other engineering staff. Additionally, this professional collaborates with Enterprise Architects and Project Management to translate design specifications to production platforms.
Key Responsibilities
This is a hybrid position where employees work 2 days onsite and 3 days remotely. We are only considering candidates local to the following areas: Little Rock, AR; Dallas, TX; Mentor, OH; Miamisburg, OH.
  • Designs, modifies, develops, and implements IT software architecture solutions.
  • Effectively plans and manages assignments spanning multiple complex projects.
  • Drives technical and procedural change relative to best practices in software development.
  • Champion and integrate AI-assisted development practices, including Agentic development, to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Builds teams as necessary to solve problems by taking ownership and mentoring developers in finding solutions.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required with 10+ years' experience in this field or MS in Computer Science with 6+ years' experience in this field required.
  • Experienced in all phases of the software development lifecycle with a clear understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Required familiarity with navigation and management within the Azure Cloud portal and experience with Kubernetes clusters.
  • Advanced technical proficiency working with the core tech stack: .Net, Angular, and SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large projects, build teams, and solve highly complex programming problems.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
