ACC Management Group, Inc. is looking for a part-time Information Technology Intern to join our team this fall. This is a hands-on internship where you'll work directly with our Director of Information Technology and Information Technology Administrator, supporting the systems that keep our corporate office and managed communities across Wisconsin and Illinois running.


You'll troubleshoot help desk tickets, configure and deploy workstations, assist with network support, document technical processes, and contribute to active IT projects - real work with real impact, not busywork. If you're currently pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field and want to turn classroom knowledge into practical experience, this is a great place to start.

Position Overview

To provide hands-on support to the Information Technology function of ACC Management Group and the properties under its management, assisting with day-to-day technical support, system maintenance, documentation, and active IT projects. This internship is designed to build practical experience by applying academic knowledge to real-world technical challenges under the direction of the Director of IT.

Essential Duties

Technical Support

  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist employees with day-to-day IT problems by phone, remote access, or site visits, as needed.
  • Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

System Setup and Maintenance

  • Assist in configuring and deploying new workstations and setting up equipment for new users.
  • Install software updates and maintain operating systems to ensure security and functionality.
  • Install, test, and monitor software; modify configurations and utilities as directed.
  • Assist with computer repair and troubleshooting, virus protection, and Wi-Fi technology.

Network Administration

  • Provide basic network support and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Assist with managing user access to network resources.
  • Assist with monitoring networking equipment, servers, and network availability.

Documentation

  • Create user-friendly guides and document technical processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, including hardware and software licenses.

Project Assistance

  • Support IT projects, software development tasks, and system upgrades.
  • Assist with the implementation and on-going support of new software and features.
  • Apply academic knowledge to real-world technical challenges under the direction of the supervisor.

Additional Duties

  1. Drive personal vehicle, as needed.
  2. Perform additional duties and/or projects, as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks, operating systems, and core IT concepts.
  • Prior internship or help desk experience is beneficial but not required; a strong desire to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Office 365 and other software programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capability to troubleshoot multiple issues.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and possess efficient time management skills.
  • Maintain valid driver's license. Must be able to travel to different work locations, meetings, and training, as needed.
  • Flexibility with working hours around an academic schedule, including availability for later hours or weekends, as needed.
  • Goal-oriented and team player, with the ability to work independently once direction is provided.
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance and interactions with others.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment up to but not limited to 25 pounds when needed.
