Position: Documentation Specialist
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Work Model: Onsite / Hybrid
Contract Duration: Initial 3 Years
Renewal Options: Two (2) Additional 1-Year Extensions
Maximum Contract Term: 5 Years
Client is seeking an experienced Documentation Specialist to develop, maintain, and enhance technical and operational documentation supporting enterprise applications, IT systems, business processes, and end-user support initiatives across City departments.
The selected consultant will be responsible for translating complex business and technical requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This role will support software development projects, system implementations, operational procedures, training initiatives, and end-user adoption efforts by creating and maintaining technical manuals, user guides, online help systems, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and system documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working closely with business users, developers, systems analysts, project managers, and technical support teams.
Experience
• 3+ years of experience as a Documentation Specialist, Technical Writer, or related role.
• Experience developing technical documentation for software applications and IT systems.
• Experience translating business and technical specifications into user-friendly documentation.
• Experience creating user guides, training manuals, and online help documentation.
• Experience documenting system architecture, workflows, and operational procedures.
• Experience supporting software development and system implementation projects.
