At GN, everything we do is about bringing people closer. Through intelligent hearing technology, we help millions of people hear more, connect more, and experience more of life.

As our new Software Project Manager, you play a direct role in turning this purpose into real, meaningful software solutions. You will lead projects that power GN's hearing products worldwide - software that is clinically meaningful, rigorously developed, and built to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Location: Primarily remote, with preference given to candidates in the Glenview/Chicago area for occasional onsite collaboration and events.

The team you will be part of:

You will become part of our Portfolio & Delivery Management team in software solutions R&D, responsible for the development of all platforms that connect our hearing devices with users.

We are a diverse, motivated group of project managers and design control specialists who manage both project delivery and redefine our way of working at GN.

We don't just run projects-we continuously reinvent how we work, improving processes, modernizing ways of working, and exploring how AI can enable smarter delivery and better outcomes. In our domain, that also means getting compliance and quality right from day one, not as an afterthought.

We warmly welcome applicants of all genders, identities, and backgrounds, and we aim to create a workplace where everyone is valued and provided with fair opportunities to succeed.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Lead software development projects as Epic Owner in a medical device context
  • Plan, coordinate, and guide project execution in alignment with regulatory requirements and design control processes
  • Own projects and collaborate closely with product owners, product managers, commercial teams, hardware/embedded software specialists, and regulatory affairs
  • Work in close collaboration with design control leads to ensure documentation, traceability, and regulatory compliance are built into delivery-not bolted on
  • Monitor essential KPIs and guide early risk-reduction measures, including risk management activities required under IEC 62304 and ISO 13485
  • Guide the GN product development lifecycle and continuously enhance processes within a regulated framework
  • Represent your project teams in governance and reporting, including milestone reviews with quality and regulatory stakeholders

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:

  • Have experience delivering software in a regulated environment - medical devices, pharma, or similar (experience with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA, or EU MDR)
  • Understand how design control, traceability, and verification/validation activities integrate into agile delivery
  • Have delivered software solutions in an agile/SAFe environment and can balance pace with compliance rigor
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across technical, quality, and commercial stakeholders
  • Bring a structured, curious, and solution-oriented mindset -and know when the process exists for good reason
  • Have some experience with hardware or embedded systems
  • Hold a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Are familiar with project management methods (PMP, Prince2 beneficial)
  • Are interested in process improvement and AI-enabled ways of working
  • Are proficient in English, both orally and in writing

Why Join GN?

  • Work on software that directly improves people's ability to hear and connect
  • Deliver in a regulated space where quality and safety genuinely matter
  • Join a collaborative, innovative, inclusive team
  • Help shape both what we deliver and how we deliver it-within a framework that demands excellence
  • Join a global leader in hearing technology

Pay Transparency Notice:

  • The target annual compensation for this position can range from $110,000.00 - 125,000.00, with a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of the fiscal year-end
  • Compensation for roles at GN depends on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience
  • To remain competitive, GN offers a competitive benefits package, including annual bonuses, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid vacation and holidays

We encourage you to apply:

We highly value a mindset, motivation, and energy, that aligns with our core values, to not only ensure growth for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.

We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process:

GN welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and applicants will receive equal consideration for employment. We make life sound better by developing intelligent sound solutions that transform lives through the power of sound, enabling you to hear more, do more & be more than you ever thought possible.
