About this position

PreVeil is a high-growth SaaS leader dedicated to securing the nation's defense industrial base. We provide a market-leading cybersecurity solution that empowers organizations to accelerate and maintain compliance with the Department of Defense's CMMC program. At PreVeil, we don't just offer a product; we provide a market-proven path to security and compliance, ensuring our customers can focus on their mission while we protect their most sensitive data. Joining PreVeil means joining a team at the forefront of national security innovation during a period of rapid, exciting growth.

PreVeil is revolutionizing how people and organizations secure their most sensitive data and communications through advanced encryption technologies. We're looking for a skilled SDET who thrives on solving complex problems at scale and ensuring exceptional product quality across our web and desktop environments.

As an SDET at PreVeil, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You'll bring a deep understanding of testing principles and exceptional troubleshooting skills to identify, investigate, and resolve issues across our web and desktop applications, with particular focus on file management at scale. Your work will directly impact our product's stability and our customers' satisfaction. This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and development teams to understand requirements and define comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for web, desktop (Windows/macOS), mobile and API platforms.
  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and test cases for new and existing functionality, with a strong focus on scalability, edge cases, and real-world usage scenarios to ensure system robustness.
  • Specialize in testing file management features for our cloud storage solution, including file syncing, sharing, storage, and related operations.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting and investigation skills to pinpoint root cause, reproduce bugs, and provide clear, actionable bug reports.
  • Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements review through release.
  • Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies, and overall product quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an SDET or in a test automation role.
  • Knowledge of test automation concepts and experience with automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) for troubleshooting and test execution.
  • Solid, demonstrable understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with scale, robustness, and real-world scenario testing of highly distributed applications.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven experience testing complex web applications.
  • Extensive experience testing desktop applications on both Windows and macOS.
  • Strong experience in file management testing, including file operations, synchronization, and data integrity.
  • Proficient with manual testing tools and techniques (e.g., API testing tools, scripting).
  • Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
