NAVA Software solutions is looking for a AS400 Admin
Details:
AS400 Admin
Location: Mebane, NC (5 Days Onsite)
Duration: 6-12 months
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM i (AS/400) hardware and operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance, run system diagnostics, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Manage user profiles, authority levels, job queues, output queues, and device configurations.
  • Perform backups and recoveries using BRMS or other backup tools.
  • Apply PTFs and software upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Schedule and monitor batch jobs, resolve job failures, and optimize job performance.
  • Provide system support for application teams and end users.
  • Maintain security and compliance through system auditing and role-based access control.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7 years of experience administering AS400 / IBM i environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system, CL programming, and DB2/400.
  • Experience with BRMS, HMC, and Power Systems hardware.
  • Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) tools.
