Job description

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals with software development-related education and/or experience to support modeling in support of Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This position is on-site in Dahlgren, VA, where Amentum has provided support to the customer for over 60 years.

You will be part of our growing systems and software engineering team and contribute your diverse skills across multiple software contracts in support of our Software Center of Excellence. We are looking for individuals to join our team atmosphere who are eager to make a difference by solving complex Digital Engineering challenges. Apply your skills to the latest DoD weapons and sensor systems, modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success.

Simulink Model/Developer Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform Simulink modeling in support of Naval projects and programs.

  • Conduct modeling within the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.

  • Primarily support a Senior Amentum developer in development using Agile development principles.

  • Apply Simulink experience and familiarity with Agile Development in support of project requirements.

  • Perform analysis and problem-solving techniques in support of professional scientific and engineering work.

  • Work independently and with others within established teams and across organizations to meet established goals within schedule-driven timelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience in lieu of the education requirement.

  • Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.

  • Must have an active Secret U.S. Government clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.

  • Candidate must maintain a valid REAL ID driver's license, required for access to the customer site, and have access to reliable transportation, as this position requires occasional travel between local work sites during the week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Simulink experience.

  • Familiarity with Agile Development.

Compensation Details:

US: $80,000-$130,000
