You thrive in a fast-moving environment, enjoy working with a small and highly skilled team, and are motivated by building technology that has a meaningful impact on people's everyday lives.

You are excited by the opportunity to develop next-generation cloud and web technologies that support Caregiver by Cognitive, our Wi-Fi sensing platform for aging in place. You bring strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a willingness to take ownership as we build practical, scalable solutions for real-world deployment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and services.
  • Work with a variety of database technologies, including relational, time-series, and messaging-based systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to design and deliver new product features.
  • Improve internal tools, monitoring systems, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems.
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Vitest.
  • Experience using Git version control and working in Agile environments with tools such as JIRA.
  • A team-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take ownership and drive solutions forward.

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with Python.
  • Experience with large-scale IoT platforms using MQTT.
  • Experience building products or platforms that support smart home, connected care, health technology, or large-scale device deployments.

Don't tick every box? We believe motivation, curiosity, and growth potential are highly valuable characteristics in a job candidate. If this role excites you and you believe you can contribute, we encourage you to apply.

WHY COGNITIVE SYSTEMS?

At Cognitive Systems, we are building technology that brings a new layer of intelligence to the connected home. Our work combines deep expertise in Wi-Fi sensing, cloud platforms, data science, and practical product design to help people live more safely and independently.

We are always looking for bright, motivated, and energetic people to join our team. We foster an open, collaborative, and agile environment where creative thinking leads to meaningful achievements and innovation. As part of a small and highly capable team, your work will have visibility, ownership, and real impact.

We promote a healthy work-life balance in a flexible work setting. We offer competitive salaries, an excellent extended health benefits plan, 5 weeks of paid annual time off, a fitness and wellness credit, and free catered lunch in-office every day. Most importantly, we are committed to creating innovative and impactful technology that people will love.

ABOUT US

Caregiver by Cognitive brings an ambient layer of awareness to the connected home, supporting people aging in place with greater safety, independence, and peace of mind.

Led by founders with deep expertise in silicon design, radio frequency technology, and Wi-Fi sensing, Cognitive Systems has built a leading patent portfolio in motion intelligence. Caregiver brings that foundation to the aging-in-place market as a practical, deployable solution, turning passive signals into meaningful insights about daily living patterns, including activity, sleep, and unexpected inactivity.

Built for real-world rollout, Caregiver supports both turnkey applications and API-based integrations. This enables in-home care organizations to move beyond traditional emergency response and toward proactive, insight-driven care.

The platform is easy to install, scales across large customer bases, and adapts to both informal and professional caregiving environments, helping providers stay connected and act with confidence, even when they cannot be physically present.
