Job description

The Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering Intern will be assigned a variety of projects to support Manufacturing, as well as provide developmental opportunities for the Engineering Intern during the Fall 2026 semester (August-December). The Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering Intern will interface with internal personnel in the plant and office, and some external suppliers, contractors, etc. as needed. This position is 100% on-site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for opportunities to improve.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Perform Time Studies to support the Item Creation standards.
  • Assist with and/or take lead of new or upgraded Process / Equipment Implementation projects.
  • Process development, improvement and documentation.
  • Development of procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules required to support these activities.
  • Investigate new technologies, equipment, supplies to help improve the operation.
  • Additional activities may be assigned based on current requirements and Intern development.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently enrolled in Engineering or Technical discipline at an accredited university/college
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling
  • Adept at working in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess a good work ethic and be efficient in job duties
