Your work environment at EXP

We are seeking a Junior Structural Drafter to support the preparation and development of structural engineering drawings and design documentation. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and designers to produce accurate, high-quality drawings for mining and industrial projects involving steel, concrete, and infrastructure systems.

You will be part of a collaborative mining and engineering team, supporting projects under the guidance of engineers and senior designers. This role provides exposure to structural design processes, drafting standards, and coordination across multiple disciplines in a dynamic project environment.

  • Prepare and revise structural drawings (steel, concrete, layouts) 
  • Support engineers in developing design deliverables 
  • Ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with standards 
  • Assist with drafting and coordination across disciplines
  • Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering Technology, or a related field 
  • 0-2 years of drafting experience (co-op or internship experience considered) 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting/design software 
  • Basic understanding of structural systems (steel and concrete) and construction concepts 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills 
  • Interest in mining, construction, or industrial projects is an asset 
  • Exposure to structural drafting for industrial or mining projects
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (Revit, Tekla, etc.)
  • Familiarity with structural detailing standards and practices
  • Field exposure through co-op or summer experience
  • Understanding of structural safety and design considerations

The salary range for this role is between$45K - $50K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
