Description

Remote position with the ability to travel to our NJ and NY locations up to 25% of the time.

Position Summary:

The Guidewire Developer - Claim Center independently plans, develops, tests, debugs, and delivers small, well-defined ClaimCenter configuration and integration changes. The role owns assigned user stories from estimation through completion within established Guidewire architecture, security, and development standards, coordinating with business and technical teams and escalating complex design decisions or platform risks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Independently design, develop, and unit test small, well-defined solutions using Guidewire application tools for Cloud implementation within established standards.
* Deliver small, well-defined Guidewire Claim Center Configuration and/or Integration development within a larger development work stream.
* Estimate assigned work, track progress, and deliver small user stories to plan.
* Communicate and work with onsite/offshore teams and business as required to support the implementation of user stories.
* Propose bounded integration solutions and estimate the effort required for user story requirements.
* Interact with other internal teams (including GNY business, GNY IT, vendor, onshore and offshore) to complete project activities.
* Develop small, well-defined configuration solutions including PCF, Business Rules, Entity, Exception handling.
* Implement small, well-defined integration solutions including Batch Processes, Message Queues and Event Messaging.
* Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests.
* Execute the development & ensure successful completion of assigned user stories for each sprint with accountability for the completed deliverable.
* Apply industry practices, architectural standards and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments.
* Collaborate with Business, Product, Operations and Testing teams in testing Claims applications.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree required.
* Minimum 2 years in IT field with 1 year within Guidewire Claims Center in Integration / Configuration Development roles required.
* Basic understanding of Property & Casualty insurance domain required.
* Familiarity with Guidewire APIs, Integration views and Product Models preferred.
*Minimum 1 years of experience with tools like Jira, Git, Bitbucket etc. required.
* Basic knowledge of Guidewire integration concepts: Restful, Batch Processing, Message Queues and Event Processing required.
* Exposure to DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines for Claims build / deployments preferred.
* Guidewire Claims Center Certification is a plus.

Skills:

* Basic Claim Center Configuration / Integration skills (v10.0 or above)
* Familiarity with Guidewire Claims Center Cloud environment preferred.
* Basic knowledge of technical/functional areas including GOSU, PCF, XML, Product Model, Activity Assignments.
* Basic understanding of the Guidewire platform (UI, Data Model, Studio etc.)
* Foundational technical background in Core Java, XML, SQL.
* Familiarity with one or more RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server).
* Exposure to modern software architectures, design patterns, and development techniques.
* Basic application of structured software development techniques including requirements analysis and testing.
* Ability to independently deliver small, well-defined tasks within established standards and escalate complex issues.
* Familiarity with Software Configuration Management tools like GitHub, Bitbucket.
* Basic knowledge of SDLC methodologies like agile.
* Good problem solving and analytical skills.
* Eagerness to learn secure software development practices.
Other Requirements:
* Familiarity with Policy Center, Billing Center, Contact Manager is a plus.
* Exposure to Guidewire Cloud Platform preferred.

The salary range for this role is $77,500 - $141,400. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
