Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hiring new nurses and overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them to a trainer

  • Creating schedules to ensure that departments have adequate nursing coverage for every shift

  • Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues

  • Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates within budgetary constraints

  • Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status

  • Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement

  • Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses

  • Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications and Skills:
