Job description

A Tennessee public school high school softball coach is primarily responsible for leading all aspects of a school's softball program while ensuring strict compliance with Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) regulations and school district policies.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
  • Athletic Development: Plan and conduct effective practices focused on softball fundamentals, game strategies, and player conditioning.
  • Student-Athlete Supervision: Supervise players during practices, home games, away games, and team travel.
  • TSSAA & Policy Compliance: Ensure all student-athletes meet TSSAA eligibility requirements and adhere to state rules and regional regulations.
  • Character and Mentorship: Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, academic performance, and personal responsibility both on and off the field.
  • Program Operations: Manage the team budget, coordinate field scheduling, arrange team transportation, and handle uniform and equipment inventories.
