Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience to treat orthopedic, neuro, and post-surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting.

Details
  • Outpatient clinic setting within a short-term acute care hospital
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Patient population includes orthopedic, neurological, gait/balance, pain management, and workers' compensation cases
  • Treats pre- and post-surgical patients including post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgery cases
  • Performs manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, instrument-guided soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and neuro re-education
  • Uses Cerner for charting
  • Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
  • BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • PT license required if applicable, must be in hand prior to start date (IN or Compact license accepted)
  • Pending state license accepted
  • 2 supervisor references required
  • Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical rehabilitation preferred
  • Skilled in adaptive devices, gait training, manual therapy, and modalities such as e-stim, ultrasound, and traction
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation of short- and long-term goals
  • Provides patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety/injury prevention
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted, with Indiana residents considered local
  • Local candidates may be offered a lower in-state pay rate
  • Past IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers who have completed 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated break before starting a new assignment
  • Free parking available on site
