This role will primarily take place in a climate-controlled remote setting, allowing flexibility for your daily work routines while still engaging actively with colleagues and patients. You will participate in virtual consultations as well as in-clinic visits when necessary, promoting interaction with other healthcare professionals to foster a collaborative approach to patient care.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing patient conditions, and evaluating treatment effectiveness utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to create individualized care plans.
• Implementing evidence-based practices to monitor patient progress and adjusting intervention strategies as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
• Documenting treatment plans, progress notes, and required clinical information accurately and promptly following regulatory requirements and departmental protocols.
• Collaborating with patients and their families to establish comprehensive treatment plans that focus on specific needs, cultural backgrounds, and desired therapeutic goals.
• Providing ongoing education about mental health resources and treatment options, fostering a strong support system around each patient.
• Facilitating referrals and acting as a liaison between patients and additional treatment providers, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
• Mentoring and supervising students, interns, and less experienced staff members, promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development within the team.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will primarily support patients and families dealing with the emotional and psychological challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. You will provide essential support, including coping strategies and therapeutic interventions, to help them navigate their experiences and improve their overall mental well-being. The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals.

While not required, candidates with experience in oncology counseling or mental health services related to chronic illness will be given preference. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems are also beneficial assets for this role.
