Job description

This position is for a SOCIAL WORKER, PD#T5012000, part of the Nevada National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate preventive, remedial, and support services to optimize psychological health and readiness of National Guard military members and their families.Qualifications:In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Education requirement is based upon the qualification standards for the specific position and is stated under the heading "EDUCATION". Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific in describing your experience. EACH APPLICANT MUST FULLY SUBSTANTIATE (IN THEIR OWN WORDS) THAT THEY MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE LISTED BELOW; OTHERWISE, THE APPLICANT WILL BE CONSIDERED UNQUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION. Must possess a current Unrestricted State License to practice clinical social work independently.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and Master's degree with practicum.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level, 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments; completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position; knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources; specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situation, providing assistance and services, referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated, and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above, no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed.Education:A Master's in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. Substitute degrees will not be accepted.
