Salary:

  • Master’s Degree + clinical licensure as LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT: $73,000-$77,000/annually + every other Friday off paid

Your Role:

Clinical Supervisor – Heritage Behavioral Health Center (Decatur, Illinois)

Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur, IL is seeking a full-time Clinical Supervisor (LCSW or LCPC) to join our clinical leadership team. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality, person-centered care through expert clinical oversight and documentation review. The Clinical Supervisor will provide strengths-based clinical supervision to staff, guide clinical decision-making, and ensure compliance with Medicaid and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities include reviewing and authorizing assessments and treatment plans, verifying medical necessity, and supporting staff development through collaborative problem-solving and innovative approaches to care.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as tan expert for substance use and mental health documentation review and signature (authorization) processes.
  • Evaluate ongoing necessity for service delivery, monitor client progress, and recommend treatment adjustments as appropriate.
  • Verify clinical need for services and ensure treatment recommendations align with best practices and medical necessity criteria.
  • Coordinate with treatment teams to gather additional clinical information when needed.
  • Provide strengths-based clinical supervision to staff seeking clinical licensure, fostering professional growth and confidence.
  • Conduct strengths-based case reviews to identify opportunities for client engagement and improved outcomes.
  • Advise clinical staff on appropriate procedures and practices related to assessment tools and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and leadership to address training needs and enhance documentation practices.
  • Participate in clinical staffing meetings, offering guidance on best practices, creative problem-solving, and client engagement strategies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of Medicaid documentation requirements and medical necessity criteria.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health service delivery within nonprofit settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strengths-based supervision and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Skilled in creative problem-solving and innovative approaches to staff development and client care.
  • Ability to identify solutions collaboratively and work effectively across multiple programs and teams.
  • Commitment to evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic health records and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or other human service field preferred
  • This position requires clinical licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and credentialing as Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA)
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with assessment utilizing the IM-CANS and ASAM, providing strengths-based supervision, and mentorship of clinicians
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
