Professional Services Group is now hiring for the part-time SAFE Worker!

Are you looking for a meaningful part-time position to make a difference in people's lives? Do you want to gain valuable experience in the human services field while helping families in your community? Join our team at Professional Services Group as the Rock SAFE Worker!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Rock Safety and Family Engagement (SAFE) Program provides community-based services to children, youth, and families referred through CPS and Ongoing Units of Rock County Human Services. SAFE serves families whose children are at-risk of out-of-home placement, as well as families working toward reunification following placement. Through a family-centered approach, our services are designed to promote child safety, strengthen family engagement, preserve family connections, and support positive permanency outcomes.

Rock SAFE Workers partner with families to identify strengths, address safety concerns, and enhance overall family functioning. Workers provide in-home support and intervention to help families maintain children in their homes whenever possible. In addition, staff facilitate supervised family interactions and provide parent coaching to strengthen parent-child relationships, support healthy family attachments, and assist families in acheiving reunification goals when appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE SAFE WORKER:

  • Conduct face-to-face contacts with youth and families in homes, community settings, schools, and other approved service locations.
  • Assess family strengths, needs, safety concerns, and barriers impacting child and family well-being.
  • Review, implement, and monitor safety plans, service plans, and case plan goals to support child safety, family engagement, and adherence to identified expecations.
  • Partner with families to build skills, strengthen protective capacities, and support progress toward case plan objectives.
  • Facilitate, monitor, and support safe family interactions between children and their parents or caregivers.
  • Provide parent coaching and guidance to strengthen parenting practices, improve parent-child interactions, and support healthy family relationships.
  • Exercise sound judgement in responding to crisis situations and utilizing de-escalation strategies with appropriate.

LOCATION: Janesville, WI. Local travel is required throughout the Rock County area to complete client visits, with mileage reimbursement.

SCHEDULE: Part-time 20-25 hours per week. Schedule will include daytime, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours as needed.

SALARY: $21.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Must be actively pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related; OR, have relevant experience in child welfare, human services, or related.
  • Experience working in child welfare is preferred.
