Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced professionals with backgrounds in grant writing, ESG strategy, legal and policy work, sustainability initiatives, or related advisory fields.

This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating grant, ESG, policy, and legal-related documents and professional work products for quality, accuracy, relevance, and overall effectiveness. Selected professionals will assess proposals, analyses, strategies, presentations, and supporting materials while providing clear, structured feedback.

Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Writing & Proposal Review
  • Review grant proposals and related documentation for clarity, completeness, and professional quality
  • Assess whether objectives, supporting information, and proposed activities are logically presented
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or unsupported claims
  • Evaluate proposal structure and alignment with stated requirements
  • Apply practical judgement grounded in grant-writing or funding experience
ESG & Sustainability Strategy
  • Review ESG strategies, reports, and supporting materials
  • Assess environmental, social, and governance-related objectives and recommendations
  • Evaluate whether proposed initiatives are logically supported and clearly communicated
  • Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or weak assumptions
  • Review ESG materials for relevance, coherence, and professional quality
Policy & Regulatory Review
  • Evaluate policy-related documents, analyses, and recommendations
  • Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by available information
  • Review regulatory and institutional considerations where relevant
  • Identify gaps in reasoning, implementation planning, or supporting evidence
  • Evaluate materials for clarity and practical applicability
Legal Document Review
  • Review legal and policy-related materials for structure, consistency, and relevance
  • Assess whether legal considerations are clearly incorporated into broader recommendations
  • Identify incomplete reasoning, inconsistencies, or unsupported conclusions
  • Evaluate professional documents involving legal, regulatory, or governance topics
  • Apply relevant legal or policy judgement where appropriate to the assignment
Research & Analysis
  • Review research, supporting evidence, and analytical materials
  • Assess whether conclusions follow logically from the information presented
  • Identify factual inconsistencies, omissions, or weak supporting arguments
  • Evaluate quantitative and qualitative information for relevance
  • Review analyses for clarity and decision usefulness
Spreadsheet Review
  • Review Excel spreadsheets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Assess calculations, tables, supporting data, and assumptions
  • Identify missing information or discrepancies
  • Evaluate whether quantitative outputs appropriately support stated conclusions
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across spreadsheet-based work products
Document & Presentation Review
  • Review Word documents and PowerPoint presentations for clarity, accuracy, and professional quality
  • Assess structure, supporting analysis, messaging, and information hierarchy
  • Identify inconsistencies between source information and presented conclusions
  • Evaluate whether complex grant, ESG, legal, and policy information is communicated effectively
  • Review materials against defined project guidelines
Structured Evaluation & Feedback
  • Assess assigned work products against defined quality standards
  • Identify substantive content, analytical, policy, legal, and presentation issues
  • Distinguish material concerns from minor editorial issues
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable written feedback
  • Apply evaluation criteria consistently across assignments
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in grant writing, ESG, sustainability, legal affairs, public policy, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Grant Writer, ESG Analyst, ESG Specialist, Policy Advisor, Legal Professional, or similar professional
  • Strong understanding of grant development, ESG strategy, policy analysis, and/or legal and regulatory matters
  • Strong analytical and document-review skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Comfortable reviewing varied grant, ESG, policy, and legal work products
  • Able to work independently and provide precise professional feedback
Engagement Details
  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Applicants must be based in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada
  • Compensation: $70–$150/hour
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Work focuses on grant writing, ESG strategy, policy and legal review, document evaluation, and structured feedback
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
