Your Role at Genius

As a Social Media Specialist, you will play a key role in the creation, growth, management, and monetization of your assigned social media channels, including platforms like Instagram and others. You will focus on building and scaling these channels by developing a consistent stream of engaging content, while also helping shape and evolve platform-specific social strategies.

You will work closely with your manager and the wider team to support departmental revenue and performance goals. Additionally, you will collaborate with other social team members across your assigned brands to drive growth and ensure alignment across channels.

Hours: Up to 24 hours per week, with flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Location: Los Angeles, CA (only).


What You'll Do 

  • Create and source innovative, high-quality content, including videos, images, and stories, that align with our brand voice and resonate with our target audience. This would primarily be for Instagram, but we would expect that content be shared and formatted for similar social channels like TikTok, Instagram Stories/Reels and Facebook Stories.
  • Stay on top of trends and develop creative concepts to keep our IG channel growing and engaged.
  • Build and update a content calendar for all social media activity.
  • Collaborate with content, sales, product and marketing teams to produce high-quality, on-brand visuals and messaging.
  • Adhere to all social media guidelines as well as internal content guidelines when creating and publishing social media content.
  • Use Medialab's social media management tool (Hootsuite) for sourcing and scheduling content, as well as reporting.
  • Maintain and grow the IG channel, in order to meet 2026 social projections and KPIs.
  • Collect content data to assist with analyzing and optimizing revenue streams and tracking performance against KPIs.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy IG audience.

What We're Searching For 

  • You have 3-5 years of social media management experience either brand or agency side.
  • You have experience using social media management tools e.g. Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Sprout etc..
  • You have proven experience in creating and managing specialized social media content.
  • You have demonstrated success in social monetization for channels like Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • You're a creative thinker with excellent storytelling and visual design skills.
  • You have a strong understanding of social media trends, audience behavior, and best practices for different platforms.
  • Proficiency with photo and video editing tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar software.
  • You have experience in data collection, analysis, and visualization, with a particular focus on gathering insights from social media performance metrics and contributing to comprehensive reports that inform strategic decision-making..
  • You have experience navigating the social media guidelines and managing flag/violations to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
