Veronica Beard is Hiring a Social Media Editor (NYC/hybrid)

Salary range: $90k-$100k yearly

The Social Media Editor is responsible for end-to-end social content creationβ€”from concepting and briefing partners to shooting and editing, with support from partners on the social, creative and styling teams. This person is highly creative, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented. They have a strong pulse on emerging creators, trends and cultural moments, and understand how it all fits into the VB world. This role is based in our NYC office and reports to the Senior Director of Social & Content Strategy.

Requirements
  • 5 - 6 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation and/or art direction.
  • Lives on social, and loves discovering and engaging with new people, brands, and communities online.
  • Can quickly identify rising trends and creators, and has a clear understanding of how to apply a uniquely Veronica Beard lens to all social content.
  • Has a deep knowledge of social platforms (Instagram, Tiktok, Substack), and comfortability with testing new tools as they emerge.
  • Excels in photography and videography (iPhone, film, DSLR, Super 8), and has a basic understanding of lighting, prop styling and editing.
  • Constantly references their likes, follows and saved folders, and also has an appreciation for taking in art/culture IRLβ€”from films and books to museums and shows.
  • Self-starter who can act and follow through on ideas and projects independently, and also know when to tap in other team members for collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Sr. Director of Social & Content in creating a content plan for each month, from in-house shoots to social treatments on existing assets to creator partnerships
  • Help plan and oversee social-first photoshoots, pulling swipe, creating shotlists, collaborating with creative team partners and capturing content on set.
  • Conceptualize and help design social graphics for both photo carousels and video, understanding the different needs/strategies for different platforms.
  • Coordinate with business partners on VB styling, design and store teams to concept, brief and gather employee-generated content (ie. store tours, BTS of pop-up installations, travel diaries).
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Associate in developing a TikTok strategy and capturing content, reacting quickly to relevant trends as they arise.
  • Attend VB events, activations and photoshoots (both local and out-of-state/international) to capture social-first content and turn around final posts within tight timelines.
  • Maintain a rolodex of up-and-coming social content creators (ie. artists, stylists, photographers, personalities) to tap for collaborations, beyond the influencer partnerships managed by our PR team.
  • Stay updated on current social media trends and cultural moments to create relevant, timely content.
