Job description

An overview of your future role at BBA

The BBA team is looking for a professional with 5+ yearsof experience in social environment studies.

Your main responsibilities will include supportingdepartmental and business development and contributing to environmental studies(impact assessments, approval applications and sector reports) for projects inthe industrial, energy (hydropower, wind and solar power, and biomass), miningand land-use planning sectors.

An overview of your mandates andresponsibilities

  • Coordinate BBA's consulting services in stakeholder engagement and communication (draft consulting reports)
  • Coordinate and deliver the social environment component of environmental studies
  • Collect and analyze socio-economic data (perform surveys and interviews with local and Indigenous communities; study and describe demographics, economic activities, infrastructure, land allocations, land use and occupancy)
  • Perform land-use and occupancy surveys
  • Identify a project's socio-economic challenges, assess its impact on the social environment and propose mitigation measures
  • Develop and implement market strategies with the manager and other key corporate leaders to grow the Environment group
  • Develop ties with other BBA departments and offices
  • Manage and lead all steps required to deliver projects
  • Develop realistic and achievable budgets and schedules
  • Attend internal team meetings and external meetings with stakeholders or subcontractors
  • Ensure deadlines and budgets are met and notify the senior manager promptly to renegotiate, where necessary
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and ensure team members deliver and present timely, accurate, appropriate and well-analyzed reports
