Position Summary

Do you solid experience with running social campaigns?  Do you enjoy the analytics behind social media to determine how to get the most exposure for your organization?  Do you enjoy working independently and owning the process from beginning to end?  Then you may be interested in our Social Media Specialist position. This role is perfect for the social media professional who has experience in a professional services organization, law firm or major corporation who is looking to grow and oversee Benesch's social media campaigns in this newly created role.  Join Benesch and play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing success of our organization.

The Social Media Specialist is a proactive, creative, and data-driven individual who will manage and grow the firm's social media presence. This role oversees the firm's social media channels, supports attorneys in building their professional brands online, and drives engagement through compelling content and campaigns. The Social Media Specialist will also serve as the point person for the firm's social media management tools, analytics tracking, and paid social campaigns, including campaigns developed in partnership with the Legal Recruiting team.

Essential Functions:

Social Media Management

  1. Manages day-to-day activity for the firm's social media accounts, primarily LinkedIn, with additional focus on Facebook, Instagram and X.
  2. Maintains the social media calendar to ensure timely promotion of firm news, events and thought leadership.
  3. Drafts, edits and posts content aligned with firm messaging and attorney initiatives, including repurposing attorney-authored content into social-friendly posts.
  4. Collaborates with in-house and external design resources on branded graphics and multimedia assets, and assists in creating quick-turn visuals using firm-approved templates and tools.
  5. Oversees the Firm's social management tool as the central platform for scheduling, monitoring, reporting and employee advocacy.
  6. Monitors activity, engages with audiences when appropriate and escalates issues as needed.
  7. Supports crisis communications monitoring and rapid-response posting when needed.
  8. Collaborates with colleagues in Marketing & Business Development to align social media efforts with firmwide campaigns, thought leadership and client-facing initiatives.
  9. Ensures consistency with brand voice, visuals and compliance guidelines across all social content.

Attorney & Team Support

  1. Partners with attorneys to develop, enhance and optimize their professional social media presence and activity.
  2. Supports ongoing executive visibility efforts for firm leaders.
  3. Provides coaching and best practices for building and maintaining an effective online presence.

Campaigns

  1. Coordinates and executes paid social media campaigns, including in collaboration with the Recruiting team, to support hiring initiatives and employer branding, as well as broader campaigns promoting the firm's services, attorneys, achievements and thought leadership.

Analytics & Insights

  1. Collects, analyzes and reports on social media performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  2. Monitors competitor activity (including both industry peers and their executives) and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  3. Tracks trends, emerging platforms and best practices to ensure the Firm's social media strategy remains innovative and competitive.

Qualifications:

The Social Media Specialist will have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience managing social media platforms for a professional services firm, corporate organization, or agency. A strong knowledge of LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, and social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Sprout is essential. Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is preferred. Must have experience with social media analytics, reporting, and translating data into actionable recommendations; and familiarity with paid social campaigns and audience targeting. This role requires excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and professionals at all levels, and the ability to stay highly organized, proactive, and effective while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Success in this role requires a creative thinker who can translate complex subject matter into engaging content and who is comfortable advising and coaching attorneys on effective social media use. The successful candidate will bring a data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, curiosity and adaptability in staying current on digital and social media trends, and a professional presence with the discretion needed to handle sensitive matters.

The salary range for this position is $69K to $86K.

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full-time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
