Assistant Soccer Coach (JV/C-Squad) - Wings United

Wings United Girls Soccer JV/C Coach St. James Public Schools / Windom Area Schools / Madelia Public Schools
Stipend: $3,735
Season: Fall

Date Closing: Open Until Filled

Purpose

  1. To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and conditioning necessary to achieve individual and team success in soccer.
  2. To promote teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline, and positive student-athlete experiences through participation in soccer.

Summary

The Wings United Girls Soccer JV/C Coach works collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff to support all aspects of the girls soccer program for the cooperative partnership between St. James High School, Windom High School, and Madelia High School. The coach is responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field while fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment aligned with MSHSL standards. The JV/C Coach reports directly to the Head Girls Soccer Coach and respective Activities Directors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct structured, purposeful practices for JV/C student-athletes.
  • Teach soccer fundamentals, game strategy, teamwork, and skill development.
  • Promote sportsmanship, leadership, discipline, and positive team culture.
  • Reinforce the philosophy, expectations, and goals of the Wings United soccer program.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and program activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Coordinate with varsity coaching staff regarding player development and program continuity.
  • Maintain positive communication with athletes, families, school staff, and communities.
  • Assist with equipment management, uniforms, and program organization.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHSL rules, cooperative agreement expectations, and district policies.
  • Support academic achievement and student eligibility expectations.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Wings United cooperative program and participating school districts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Activities Directors.

Qualifications

  • Previous soccer coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, player development, and game strategy.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, and staff.
  • Must meet all MSHSL coaching certification requirements prior to the season.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Compensation

  • Compensation will be based on district/cooperative coaching agreements and experience.
