The Snubbing Field Supervisor has responsibility for management of snubbing services and of employees and contractors on a job site in the operation of Axis snubbing equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for the entire planning, organizing and carrying out of the snubbing operation, determining the needs for each job and advising customers on appropriate procedures for the snubbing well service operation in accordance with Axis safety procedures and the customer specifications. The Snubbing Field Supervisor will have proven working knowledge of snubbing unit operations and will maintain satisfaction and quality assurance and service to the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning, organizing and ensuring completion of the snubbing operation
  • Determines the need and use of equipment for each customer job
  • Advises customer on the proper procedures to perform a snubbing well service operation and provide instruction on proper procedures
  • Enforce job safety procedures for each snubbing unit’s operations in accordance with Axis safety guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and keep accurate paperwork on unit service work, time sheets, delivery tickets, job reports and other administrative processes
  • Promote sales of snubbing unit services, including calling on customers and potential customers
  • Provide training for new hires and continuously instruct crews on proper operating procedures
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of the function and location of all snubbing unit operating controls
  • Oversee maintenance of unit equipment and all required log books and inspection reports
  • Report all operational deficiencies to maintenance personnel
  • May be required to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Must have valid, active state-issued Driver License; Class A CDL preferred with hazard material endorsement
  • A minimum of three (3) years proven snubbing experience and/or workover rig experience; prior work experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance a plus
  • Able to work independently in an environment under pressure in emergency situations and where priorities change quickly
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written; English preferred
  • Ability to interact with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
  • Basic math skills and problem solving and organizational skills
  • Basic computer and writing skills
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule and travel as job requires
  • Excellent customer service skills, to provide world class value to customers
