Job description

This is a 7 hour per day, 180 days per year, Office Assistant II (4 hours) and Office Assistant II/CTE (3 hours) position with benefits at Kamiak High School. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2026.
Hours for this position are 6:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience working in a fast paced school office setting which includes completing regular work of a registrar and serving as a main contact in the front office for visitors.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Student Information Systems, Newsletter publishing, Social Media posts, Calendars, greeting visitors and scheduling.
Hourly salary ranges listed are 2025-2026 rates.

REPORTS TO:Principal
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of clerical duties to assist students, staff, and parents and the general public.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide clerical support, answer phones; respond to inquiries from staff, parents, students and general public; direct inquiries to appropriate personnel; schedule appointments; and assist with other duties as directed for the purpose of providing quality customer service.
  • Process various documents and perform functions such as process mail and respond to inquiries; prepare and mail correspondence; responsible for a variety of information record keeping i.e., fiscal and/or student records; document filing, tracking information, data entry, etc.
  • May assist with student health needs.
  • May serve as a designated first aid provider.
  • May assist with supervision and monitoring of students.
  • Word process, type, copy, collate, sort, file and distribute documents to support the efficient operation of school office services.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks for the purpose of meeting deadlines, accessibility of information, and completing job duties in a timely manner.
  • Comply with District Policies.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor(s) for the purpose of maintaining an organized and efficient environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skill and ability with operating office equipment, which may include: telephone, computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, laminator and media equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various software programs related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Education/Training:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Word process with accuracy at 50 w.p.m.
  • Vocational or technical clerical training preferred
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification (Required for Designated First Aid Providers)
Experience:
  • One (1) year of applicable office or clerical experience. Vocational or technical clerical training may substitute for work experience.
