Through our technological innovation and logistical efficiency, you will join a team that prides itself on being the most trusted marketplace in the industry while shipping and processing tens of millions of products for our global buyers and sellers.

Role Overview

GOAT is seeking a fashion enthusiast looking to combine their passion with a full-time career, and obtain an entry-level position in the startup world. The ideal candidate possesses a solid knowledge of not only sneakers/apparel but of the consignment industry for brands such as Nike, Jordan, Adidas, New Balance, FOG Essentials, Supreme, BAPE, Denim Tears etc. As an Authentication Specialist, you must have the ability to verify authenticity of sneakers/apparel across the major brands. In addition, an Authentication Specialist must keep up with industry trends, releases, and collaborations with the world's best retailers, from streetwear to high fashion. You will not only figure out the authenticity of sneakers/apparel, but spot manufacturer defects, assess wear, and inspect SKU and size, ensuring that each buyer has the retail experience they've come to expect.

In this role, you will:

  • Support daily fulfillment and operational processes as needed
  • Receive and arrange inbound inventory according to brand, category, model, etc.
  • Fully adhere to the product verification process of core product, including spotting manufacturer defects, factory product reset, assessing wear, inspecting product SKU and size. Able to adjust and learn quickly to authenticate new or recently dropped SKU's
  • Enter all relevant data accurately into GOAT Group Admin, including SKU, size, condition, and original packaging
  • Use training notes to verify the authenticity of product beyond the core products, focusing on increasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Follow training roadmaps and keep detailed training notes, research trends, new products and upcoming brands
  • Actively communicate in Slack and other communications channels, (e.g. raise issues like fake footwear) and acknowledge communication from others
  • Work in a dynamic warehouse environment with heavy equipment
  • Remain flexible to perform other duties as required and assigned

We are looking for:

  • Passion for sneakers and fashion, technology and helping others succeed
  • Knowledge of products, including originals and re-releases in the past 2-5 years, and the resale industry
  • Ability to recognize current trends within the sneaker and fashion industries
  • Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail
  • A quick learner and self-starter, capable of working independently and handling increasing levels of responsibility
  • Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 35 pounds)
  • Fully proficient in reading and communicating in English
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, during peak times to meet business needs

The Authentication Specialist I position is expected to work five days a week with a tentative schedule of 9:00am-4:30pm. This estimated schedule is a good faith estimate and is entirely subject to business needs, which may change from time to time. This is not a promise and does not create a contractual obligation, implied or otherwise. This schedule is subject to all legally required breaks.
