Job description

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive enterprise-wide product transformation within the Corporate Operations Group. This critical role will focus on evolving SNC's enterprise services from bespoke, project-based delivery models into scalable, standardized, and repeatable product offerings that deliver measurable customer value.
The Principal of Product Transformation will lead a cross-functional effort to modernize how SNC designs, delivers, and monetizes enterprise services, ensuring alignment with customer missions, operational outcomes, and regulatory requirements. By introducing innovative product management practices, this leader will play a pivotal role in embedding a product-led operating model across the organization.
As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Transformation
  • Define and execute a multi-year product transformation roadmap to transition enterprise services into scalable, standardized product offerings.
  • Establish a clear product vision and value proposition that aligns with customer needs, operational outcomes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to modularize and standardize capabilities across programs, while preserving mission-critical customization where necessary.
  • Ensure all productized offerings meet security, safety, export control, and other regulatory requirements.

Service Productization & Portfolio Management
  • Convert legacy services into clearly defined product offerings with standardized scopes, pricing models, SLAs, and lifecycle ownership.
  • Build and manage a comprehensive product portfolio, including service tiers, platform-enabled offerings, and solution bundles.
  • Define and track product success metrics, such as customer adoption, delivery efficiency, and margin predictability, driving continuous improvement.

Operating Model & Organizational Alignment
  • Introduce modern product management practices (e.g., product discovery, roadmapping, MVPs, and outcome-based metrics) into a traditionally program-driven environment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, IT, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams to align product development with delivery models.
  • Lead organizational change efforts to shift from custom project delivery to a product-led value creation mindset.

Customer-Centric Collaboration
  • Partner with Business Development, Sales, and Customer Success teams to define go-to-market strategies, shape deals, and drive customer adoption of new offerings.
  • Deeply understand customer needs in government, defense, and commercial markets, ensuring alignment with SNC's value propositions.
  • Represent SNC as a senior leader, articulating product strategy and value to customers, partners, and other external stakeholders.

Leadership & Influence
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing product management teams, including product managers, service designers, and product owners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to SNC's executive leadership team, providing insights on product strategy, investment prioritization, and transformation progress.
  • Foster alignment and collaboration across a matrixed, highly regulated organization.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Enterprise services are successfully transformed into clearly defined, scalable, and repeatable product offerings.
  • Reduced delivery variability and improved operational efficiency.
  • Accelerated time-to-market for new capabilities that address evolving customer needs.
  • Stronger customer adoption and repeatability across government and commercial programs.
  • A sustainable, product-led operating model is embedded across the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field.
  • 10+ Years of Experience in product management, service productization, or product transformation, with a strong emphasis on enterprise services in regulated industries.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proven success in transitioning services from bespoke delivery models to scalable, standardized product offerings.
  • Experience operating in or alongside engineering- and operations-driven organizations.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise customer environments, including long sales cycles and complex stakeholder ecosystems (e.g., government, military, and commercial customers).
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale transformations and driving organizational change.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills.
