SENIOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - GLOBAL ELECTRONICS
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - WORLD HEADQUARTERS

As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, the Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting cost estimation, new product launch and leading standardization and innovation initiatives.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
  • Developing manufacturing processes and related equipment for new electrical components (SMT, Final Assembly and EOL Test).
  • Lead cost estimation effort for new/modified business quoting.
  • Support the analysis of work force utilization, space requirements, material flow, and leads the optimization of layout design for maximum efficiency.
  • Expected to be able to conceptualize and define the necessary specifications for key equipment, in collaboration with outside integrators.
  • Prepare RFQs (requests for quotation), evaluate responses and provide recommendations for third party integrators and services.
  • Develop materials for and participate in technical reviews with customers.
  • Work with Quality and Plant engineers to develop PFMEA, work instructions, and control plans.
  • On-site launch support for new program launches, if required.
  • Utilize MOST/MTM time study techniques, to optimize line design.
  • Project management of equipment from planning to installation.
  • Support the upkeep of production line saturation data for SMT and Backend.

Your Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in a related field: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Development of assembly processes for electrical component products.
  • Experience working with various engineering software (AutoCAD/Draftsight, Solidworks, Simulation Experience, Minitab, Microsoft Suite)
  • 5+ years of experience required.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in compliance with IATF / AIAG / VDA.
  • MOST / MTM Experience

Bonus If You Have:
  • Experience in automation, robotics, or high-speed, high-precision assembly.
  • Experience in assembly of electrical components or systems.
  • Experience in automotive electronics.
  • APQP / PFMEA Experience
