Gift Shop Clerk
SUMMARY:
Assists customers with purchasing merchandise in a friendly and courteous manner. Ensures merchandise is neatly displayed. Assists with marking and pricing merchandise and directed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assists customers with merchandise purchases.
  2. Ensures that all applicable health and safety precautions are followed.
  3. Accurately operates cash register. Makes change and processes credit card and room charges in an efficient and accurate manner.
  4. Assists with merchandise stocking and ticketing. Ensures that merchandise is neatly displayed and in proper area.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma. Must have legible handwriting.
  2. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
  3. Work may include weekends, nights, and early mornings. Must be able to work on own, without constant supervision.
  4. Minimum of 1-year retail/sales experience preferred. Demonstrated cash handling skills required.
  5. Must have strong communication skills.
  6. Must be 21 years of age and be able to obtain all local, state and federal regulatory permits as required by position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must work calmly and under stress when the volume of business increases. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
