Job Description

Youll develop transportation planning studies by analyzing data, utilizing ArcGIS / ArcGIS Pro, supporting public engagement, assisting project management, and contributing to RFP proposals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop planning studies, corridor plans, and multimodal plans

  • Analyze transportation data such as (traffic counts, and volumes, crash data, socioeconomic and demographic data, land use and growth projections, etc)

  • Utilize ArcGIS / ArcGIS Pro

  • Technical writing

  • Support public engagement meetings and workshops

  • Project Management including managing the scope, schedule and budget for transportation planning projects

  • Participate in creating proposals in response to RFPs that includes developing the scope and technical approach

Youll thrive here if you

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or other closely related fields

  • 3+ years transportation planning experience

  • PE and PTOE in Georgia

  • AICP preferred but not required

  • Familiarity with windows suite, ArcGIS, RITIS, Syncro, VISSIM, and other traffic software packages

  • Experienced in writing reports

  • Have knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO Guidelines, Highway Safety Manual, FHWA Regulations & Guidance, ADA Standards (PROWAG & ADAAG), GDOT Complete Streets & Policies Guidance, GDOT Traffic Analysis and Design Manuals, GDOT Environmental Procedures Manual, GDOT Driveway manual, GDOT Design Policy Manual, GDOT Project Development Process, and GDOT Plans Preparation Manual
