JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Technical Training Supervisor, the Technical Content Creation Specialist, EV is responsible for evaluating, creating, tailoring, and maintaining technical documentation, service training literature, wiring schematics, trouble-shooting trees, training materials, and other internal and external technical documents. Duties will include but are not limited to: researching technical topics and associated engineering drawings for new and existing products, creating diagrams for service training literature and trouble-shooting guides, liaison with internal and external engineering personnel to garner deep understanding for a wide array of technical documentation and creation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as EV SME for technical content development
  • Research new and existing products for technical documentation creation and maintenance
  • Create tailored service training literature for technical publication and training materials
  • Collaborate with field service and engineering teams to craft accurate documentation in conjunction with requirements and specifications
  • Identify trending EV field issues to inform troubleshooting tree development
  • Conduct diagnostic training sessions with dealer technicians
  • Utilize proper tooling to perform and communicate diagnostic troubleshooting at EV field service engineering level
  • Use concise and clear communication strategies to maximize comprehension efficiency

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Fluency in technical software including a variety of diagnostic tools
  • Deep understanding of EV systems including but not limited to battery, thermal management, and charging
  • Qualified person to work on and around EV High Voltage systems
  • Knowledge and application of NFPA 70E electrical safety best practices
  • Effective communicator of EV diagnostic troubleshooting best practices and strategies
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
  • 3DX experience and technical diagram creation preferred
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics on CAN – including J1939 and OBD2
  • Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field required
  • 3+ years Electric powered vehicle experience
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.

 

EXPERIENCE PREFFERED

  • 3+ years field service level experience with EV powered vehicles
