Are you an outdoor enthusiast that wants to tie your passion to a career? Our Field Marketing & Community Specialist is responsible for strengthening Klein Outdoors' presence in the field by engaging directly with outdoor communities, supporting sales initiatives, gathering real-world insights that inform product and marketing strategies, and managing early-stage customer communications. As an on-the-ground representative of the brand, this role drives grassroots marketing efforts, supports event execution, and ensures that customer feedback and field learnings are captured and shared across teams.
Personable, resourceful, and highly adaptable, the Field Marketing & Community Specialist ensures consistent brand representation, meaningful customer interactions, and smooth execution of field activations and events. This role plays a critical part in building community relationships, supporting sales and marketing operations, and strengthening the feedback loop between customers and internal teams.
1. Engage directly with outdoor communities by attending regional outdoor events, representing the brand through tabling, demos, and hands-on education that strengthen awareness and customer connection.
2. Identify and recruit participants for focus groups, surveys, and product-testing sessions, gathering authentic field insights that inform product development and marketing strategy.
3. Support sales initiatives by assisting with events, grassroot activations, and tradeshow preparation, ensuring booth setup, logistics, and customer engagement are executed professionally and consistently.
4. Observe real-world product usage in outdoor environments, summarizing pain points, unmet needs, and user behaviors into actionable insights that guide product improvements and go-to-market planning.
5. Serve as an early point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and brand-aligned responses while documenting recurring questions and feedback to support cross-functional teams.
6.Monitor competitor presence, messaging, and product performance across events, retail environments, and real-world outdoor settings; compiling findings that support sales strategy, market positioning, and product innovation.
7. Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams by sharing field learnings, customer sentiment, and community insights that strengthen alignment and decision-making across initiatives.
8. Capture field content, including photos, short videos, testimonials, and user quotes to support marketing, social media, and retail storytelling with authentic, experience-driven material.
9. Maintain organized field kits, samples, and event materials, ensuring all gear, displays, and collateral are prepared, transported, and presented according to brand standards.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field, no previous experience required, two (2) years of experience in a similar role are preferred. Master's Degree is preferred. Experience in field marketing is preferred but not required. . Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook. Must have expert communication and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to influence in a fast-paced environment.
