Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role is a hands-on welder position within a manufacturing environment, focused on fabricating and welding frames and structural components from carbon and stainless steel. You will interpret prints and work instructions, prepare materials, and perform high-quality MIG and TIG welds in both horizontal and vertical positions while ensuring accuracy, safety, and structural integrity.
Responsibilities
- Attend a daily shift meeting to review required work, priorities, and production goals.
- Read and interpret prints, blueprints, work instructions, and weld symbols to understand job requirements.
- Select and pick the correct materials and components needed for each job and prepare them for fabrication.
- Buff, clean, and grind parts as needed to ensure proper fit-up and weld quality.
- Set up beams and frames, ensuring they are properly squared and aligned before welding.
- Weld frames and structural units using MIG and TIG processes on 1G carbon and stainless steel.
- Perform both horizontal and vertical welds, including fillet welds and multi-pass welds, to meet quality and structural standards.
- Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.
- Complete a variety of welds such as fillet welds, butt welds, and cap welds on pipe, ensuring consistency and soundness.
- Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and adherence to drawings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of materials and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working in the shop.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and ensure efficient workflow.
Essential Skills- At least 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience.
- Proficiency performing horizontal and vertical welds on 1G carbon and stainless steel.
- Strong experience with fillet welds and multi-pass welds.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, work instructions, and weld symbols.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Capability to set up and square beams and frames prior to welding.
- Skill in performing fillet welds horizontally and vertically on plates.
- Skill in performing butt welds and cap welds on pipe.
- Ability to pass a weld test that includes fillet welds, butt welds, cap on pipe, and squaring a small section on a high beam in both horizontal and vertical positions.
- Experience using MIG welding and TIG welding processes in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Competence in basic fabrication tasks such as grinding, buffing, and cleaning parts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment.
- Familiarity with structural frames and unit assemblies.
- Comfort working with both carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
- Ability to own and maintain personal welding equipment, including welding jacket, hood, and steel-toe footwear.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and assemblies.
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to shop procedures.

Work Environment
You will work on a first-shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some overtime available on weekends as needed. The shop is clean and well lit, providing a comfortable and safe setting for welding and fabrication work. The environment is a manufacturing shop where you will work with welding equipment, fabrication tools, and measuring devices. You are expected to use appropriate personal protective equipment and bring your own welding jacket, hood, and steel-toe footwear in line with standard shop attire.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
