Job description

Overview:

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking motivated and dedicated Instructional Assistants to support teachers and students. The Instructional Assistants will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide instructional support, facilitate small group instruction, assist with classroom management, and be enthusiastic about making a positive impact in urban communities.

Key Responsibilities:Instructional Support:
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
  • Provide individualized support to students to reinforce learning and promote academic growth
  • Small Group Instruction:
  • Facilitate small group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Work with students in targeted intervention groups to provide additional support in specific subject areas
  • Classroom Management:
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
  • Implement positive reinforcement techniques to promote student engagement and participation
  • Materials Preparation:
  • Assist with preparing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for classroom activities and lessons
  • Organize and maintain classroom materials and supplies to support teaching and learning
  • Data Collection and Progress Monitoring:
  • Collect and record student data, including assessment scores and progress monitoring data
  • Assist teachers in tracking student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
  • Parent and Teacher Communication:
  • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support a cohesive and collaborative learning environment
  • Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in education or a related field
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from classroom teachers
  • Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
