Status: Part-Time to Full-Time - On-site

Compensation: $ 31.17 hour

Required Clearance: Secret

Requirements:

Key responsibilities and required knowledge for the Diesel Engine Specialist role include:


  • Maintain, trouble shoot diagnosis, adjust and repair.
  • Overhaul back up power systems such as gas, diesel and propane generators
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, including but not limited to oil changes, filter replacements, coolant level checks
  • Cleaning to prevent buildup of dirt and debris to ensure optimal performance
  • Inspect and test generators and generators sets to identify problems and ensure proper operations
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues within the generator systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with all health, safety and environmental protocols

Qualifications:

  • Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose sources of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing
  • Duties also include preparing written specifications for major repairs or to produce parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation.
  • Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to assemble or install equipment and components requiring basic wiring, soldering, or connections;
  • Perform routine tasks and tests, such as tensile or hardness testing, operate and adjust basic test equipment, and record test data
  • Gather and maintain engineering records, perform calculations using established formulas, and plot data to create simple curves and graphs. To industry standards and installation techniques
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license for this position and will be subject to verification.
