Job description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n\r\n\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**\r\n\r\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this\r\nclassification exists is to lead the City of Montgomery efforts in growing and\r\nsustaining its small business ecosystem. The position directs the City of\r\nMontgomery small business programs including SBOSS (Small Business One-Stop\r\nShop), Access Montgomery, and coordinates initiatives that empower\r\nentrepreneurs to launch, grow, and thrive. This role is central to ensure\r\nequitable access to capital, expanding support services for small business, and\r\nbuilding a resilient inclusive local economy. These efforts will mobilize\r\nfinancial and technical resources through public -private partnerships,\r\nincluding cultivating investments from banks, philanthropic organizations and\r\ngovernment agencies. The position reports\r\ndirectly to the Director of Economic Development.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

\r\nBachelor's degree in\r\nBusiness, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economic Development, or closely\r\nrelated field and (5) five years of experience in small business development,\r\nentrepreneurship support, or economic development in a government or nonprofit\r\nsetting.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE: Qualifying education, training,\r\nand experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to\r\nperform the job will be considered\r\n\r\n\r\n
