Job description

Job Title:  Speech Pathologist

Department:  Rehabilitation-Therapy

Location:  DeMay Living Center; 100 Sunset Park, Newark, NY

Hours Per Week:  As needed (Shifts can be between 2-8 hours long)

Schedule:  Days and Evenings available

SUMMARY

As a Speech Pathologist, your compassion, patience and dedication to assisting patients with their communication abilities greatly enhances their quality of life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Evaluation & Development. Meet the patient's goals and needs by providing quality, evidence based care; assess, develop and implement an individualized treatment plan

  • Patient Care. Help patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices/recommendations; instruct, encourage and assist patients in performing daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices

  • Leadership. Develop the speech-language therapy staff; provide information, develop and conduct in-service training programs

MS: Speech Pathology (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

CCC-SLP - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASLHA)American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASLHA), SLP - Speech-Language Pathologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
