Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Group Fitness Instructor will have the responsibility to lead group fitness classes. This is an at-will position. Other responsibilities include:
  • Lead an effective, safe and responsible group fitness class.
  • Project a positive, enthusiastic and motivating attitude towards participants.
  • Put away all equipment used during class in its proper place.
  • Inform group fitness coordinator of any problems with participants or equipment etc.
  • Maintain Group Fitness Instructor certification and CPR certification.
  • Be available and willing to sub for classes when necessary and when schedule permits.
  • Call and arrange for substitutes for classes when needed. Contact group fitness coordinator if unable to arrange for subs.
  • Communicate with Group Fitness Coordinator and/or Health & Fitness Manager of any changes in class type or class schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS: Nationally certified instructor in group fitness, with ACE and/or AFAA certifications. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Requires strong people and customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
HOURS & PAY: Varies, dependent on group fitness schedule and availability. Hiring range is between $24 - $30 per hour, dependent on certification and experience. We are looking to fill the below positions. Please indicate on your application which position you are applying for.
KIDS FIT SPEED & AGILITY GROUP INSTRUCTOR/COACH:
- Seeking an instructor to run a 45-minute, 6 week program (Fridays 3:30PM - 4:15PM) for young athletes from ages 8 - 11 years of age - Program is designed to focus on balance, flexibility, agility and speed drills
GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTORS:
- Seeking an instructor to fill a mid-morning time slot
- A priority Tuesday, 8:45am class (45 minute class) - Opportunity for additional time slots available as scheduling permits - Formats desired for this time slot: Strength/Pump/ Intervals of toning with a variety of Cardio Segments/Cycle
AQUAFIT / WATER AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR:
- Seeking an instructor to fill a Friday 8:45am time slot (45 minute class)
