Job description

Job purpose

Under the direction of the Slot Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the daily supervision of the Slots activities and staff.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of this ICS.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Monitor daily slot transactions for accuracy and response time.
  • Responsible for supervising SLOT attendants on assigned shift within assigned section.
  • Assists in training, counseling, scheduling, and evaluating SLOT attendants.
  • Handle employee and customer complaints and disputes.
  • Promotes positive customer service, safety, security and creates a friendly atmosphere.
  • Ensures that SLOT attendants work, security officers and other Golden Nugget Casino staff in regard to daily slot floor operational demands.
  • Monitor IRS currency transaction reporting requirements.
  • Safeguard against theft and ensures the security and integrity of all casino property.
  • Report developments that may affect the casino operation to the Casino Operations Manager.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
  • Always promote positive public/employee relations.
  • Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
  • Minimum one (1) year SLOT Attendant or SLOT Technician experience preferred, or one (1) year of casino experience with previous experience as a SLOT Floor Supervisor in a high-volume casino environment.
