Job description

Position Summary:Perform a variety of activities involved in the processing and packaging of pressure sensitive labels, products, and other materials according to established procedures and customer requirements. Read and follow instructions on shop orders. Operate all machinery and equipment required to process and package quality products that meet published standards. Operate all material handling equipment necessary to facilitate the process (for example, fork trucks and hand trucks).Second Shift: 3PM to 11PMESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork in a safe manner always by applying and following all safety regulations that meet local, Federal, State, and Company safety guidelines.Monitors deviations in materials and machine production conditions; making corrections and reporting non-conformities to supervisor/manager.Ensure all material produced meets published quality standards.Accurately follows instructions on shop orders to ensure a quality and correct product is received by the customer.Accurately enter all information into the computer system and/or manual logs.Input necessary order information, output trace IDs, and packaging labels.Ensure timely movement of various materials through the department to ensure safety, customer service, quality and productivity goals are met.Pack material output on skids, cartons, or by using other packaging materials as required.Safety performs equipment set-up as required by the production schedule, shop order instructions, SOPs, and material recipes.Safely set-ups and operates production machines and editing equipment according to SOPs, the production schedule, material recipes, and shop order instructions.Set-up and operate all other assigned equipment.Count and inspect orders to ensure a quality product is produced, packaged, and shipped.Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.Perform operator level preventive maintenance on packaging and converting equipment in accordance with SOPs.Actively engage in a participative team environment including maintaining a professional manner at all times with the ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written.Complete department cleaning requirements.Must be available and able to work scheduled hours including overtime.Performs all other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:• High School Diploma or GED is required• Must be willing and able to train and perform tasks on all equipmentPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to carry 35 lbs.Education and/or Experience:High School Degree or equivalence mandatory.Manufacturing experienceMust be able to operate computer systems after training.Ability to read, understand and apply instructions to work orders.  Language Skills:Ability to effectively communicate, both in oral and written communications, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.Ability to use computers to do word processing and spreadsheets is required. Mathematical Skills:Ability to use and read a tape measure.Ability to perform various math functions with emphasis on measurable impact of mathematical calculations.  Work Environment:Majority of time spent in manufacturing area. Hearing, eye and foot protection is mandatory in the manufacturing area. Will require to go under, on top of, and move around equipment, including working up and down steps. Department temperature and humidity controlled with no solvents present.Other:Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
